There is an intensifying battle for IT talent in banking and small banks need to start finding creative ways to hire; “Banks need to start thinking outside the box if they want to remain competitive — or even stay in business,” said Bruce Kershner, president of Kershner & Co., an executive search firm focused on financial institutions, to American Banker; big banks have started to make adjustments and now small banks need to think along the same lines; most community banks and credit unions are looking for people with relevant experience in banking but are finding it hard to check all the boxes; they need to become more flexible and find talent with relevant experience even if not all in banking or financial services.
