Brex finds a Niche Underserved by Traditional Card Issuers
Startups have found it extremely difficult to get access to corporate credit cards to help handle a lot of the everyday business transactions; Brex co-founders Henrique Dubugras and Pedro Franceschi dealt with this issue themselves and thought there was another way to help; Brex takes a look at the venture capitalists supporting the start-up and the amount of money raised when assessing risk for their corporate card product; the company does keep a close eye on the startups bank account to ensure they don’t burn through capital too quickly; Brex joins only a few other issuers, namely Silicon Valley Bank and Chase, willing to take the risk on startups; statistics point to most startups failing after a few year, ensuring they have access to cards can help change some of those states around.
