Chris Skinner takes us back to 2005 when Zopa was the original peer to peer lender and the precursor of what was to come. Fintech 1.0 really got going in 2010 when we saw huge investments in startups that could remove friction from the financial system and disrupt the banks. In 2015 fintech 2.0 began with banks going from innovation theatre to collaborating with fintech. He says that fintech 3.0 will be about open marketplaces and collaboration with big tech companies: Facebook, Amazon, Tencent, Baidu, Alibaba and Google. Source.
